Ernő Goldfinger - 2 Willow Road, Hampstead

2 Willow Road, Hampstead, North London

The home of Erno Goldfinger, the innovative, modernist architect who was influenced by Le Corbusier. He created a number of designs, including the Trellick and Balfron Towers in London. A controversial figure, both for his design aesthetic and his political views, the terrace at Willow Road so incensed Ian Fleming that he named Auric Goldfinger, the villain in the Bond novels, after the architect. I shot this way back in the mid 90's and have only just rediscovered some of the original transparencies.

Photography has been my life since the early 70's, when I was lucky enough to assist some of the most creative and well regarded advertising photographers of the day. I went on to run my own studio where we specialised in room sets for advertising campaigns and brochures for clients producing paint, wallpaper and white goods.

As the industry changed I left the studio behind and became a location photographer of architecture, interiors and lifestyles. I have been fortunate to travel widely and have photographed some truly iconic buildings and interiors.

My personal work is often landscapes, including 360 panoramic images.
